Unless you know your face shape, buying a pair of sunglasses or eyeglasses might just be the hardest decision you’ll make this year… We’ve done all the legwork for you and hand picked the frames that will fit your face the best. Here’s the RAEN guide to the three most common face shapes.

Square: Angular features, strong jawline, wide forehead, wide and defined cheeks, and a wide chin characterize square faces. The width of the forehead, cheekbones and jaw are all about the same. In selecting frames, you want to try and compliment these features, rather than match them.

Sun:
For square faces we recommend trying our Remmy, Suko, Raleigh, Roye, and Nori frames.

Rx:
For square faces we recommend trying our Moro, Saint Malo, Whidbey, Marin, and Pfeiffer frames.

Round: Round faces share characteristics of square faces in that the width of the forehead, cheekbones and chin are nearly equal. The difference here is that the features tend to be softer, and may lack the defined angles. Therefore, you should choose frames that add angles and definition.

Sun:
For round faces we recommend trying our Wiley, Arlo, Lenox, Vista, Myer, and Volant frames.

Rx:
For round faces we recommend trying our Ditmar, Oxnard, Carmel, Edmond, Doheny, and Merced frames.

Oval: Oval faces are longer than they are wide and feature a narrower chin and forehead with wide cheekbones. Oval faces tend to be well balanced. If you’re lucky enough to have an oval face, your choices are endless since oval faces can pull off nearly any frame style. Just be sure the frames are at least as wide as your face is, at it’s widest point.

Sun:
For oval faces we recommend trying our Raleigh, Arlo, Remmy, Squire, Lyon, Nori, or Flowers frames.

Rx:
