Choosing the perfect pair of shades or specs is easy when you know what you’re looking for. The main factor to consider when shopping for frames is your face shape. To keep things simple, you should choose a frame shape that is opposite of your face shape to complement your features.

##Glasses for Square Faces

Angular features, strong jawline, wide forehead, wide and defined cheeks, and a wide chin characterize square faces. The width of the forehead, cheekbones and jaw are all about the same. In selecting frames, you want to try and complement these features, rather than match them.

##Glasses for Round Faces

Round faces share characteristics of square faces in that the width of the forehead, cheekbones and chin are nearly equal. The difference here is that the features tend to be softer, and may lack the defined angles. Therefore, you should choose frames that add angles and definition.

##Glasses for Oval Faces

Oval faces are longer than they are wide and feature a narrower chin and forehead with wide cheekbones. Oval faces tend to be well balanced. If you’re lucky enough to have an oval face, your choices are endless since oval faces can pull off nearly any frame style. Just be sure the frames are at least as wide as your face is, at its widest point.
