RAEN Ambassador Warren Smith is to say the least the ultimate vagabond, but lately he’s been wanting to fixate himself in one place. We catch up with him to see what he’s been doing…

What inspires you?

All kinds of stuff. Too  much to pin point I guess, but the idea of surrendering my brain and trying to pay attention to stillness has been really inspiring creatively and just in general lately.

Digital or film?

I’m not opposed to digital, I just never really do it other than my phone, so ya film if for some reason I have to actually pick one. They’re both cool.

Favorite surf spot?

For getting like surf dog crazy waves, I’d say Indonesia. But for experiences and culture I’d ay India or Iceland, even Maine. I always enjoy going back to my hometown in FL and surfing really shitty wind swells at the pier. So much fun.

What project are you working on?

Sort of a few things. Myself and good friend, Grady, are in the process of moving to LA into an old factory space downtown. We’re putting in a darkroom etc. so that’s been taking up a ton of our time because I haven’t lived in a proper home of my own in like five years, so I have no idea of what I’m doing. I’ve been working on a book of photographs over the past few years that we’re going to release through Welcome Rivers, which I’m really excited about.
